CHARACTERIZATION OF SYMPTOMS OF STRESS, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19 IN STUDENTS ENTRYING TO A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression in the context of covid-19 in incoming students at a public university. The study is analytical, observational at a descriptive level with the application of a non-experimental, transectional design; the sample was made up intentionally, made up of 228 students from the 14 professional schools, the questionnaire applied virtually was used, the sociodemographic characteristics of the students are male (59.2%) female (40.8%), the origin 64.5% of Huancavelica, 8.3% of Huancayo, 7.9% Angaraes and 7.5% Acobamba, Engineering Sciences 39.5%, Business Sciences 25.0%, Nursing 16.7%, obstetrics and Political Science and Law 5.7%. 23 students had mild stress, 42 students’ moderate depression, 31 students had moderate anxiety.
