HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND JOB PERFORMANCE IN THE HEALTH SECTOR, LA OROYA – JUNÍN

Abstract

The objective of this study was to relate human resource management and job performance in the health sector. It was a quantitative cross-sectional and correlational study, carried out in 113 health workers from La Oroya - Junín. Self-administered human resource management and job performance questionnaires were used; correlations using Kendall's Tau b test. Workers in the health sector showed that the dimensions of human resource management were associated with regular job performance (70.8 %); Likewise, the results reported that the dimensions of job performance were associated with regular human resource management (70.8 %). 75.5 % of the staff with a regular management level, presented a low level of job performance in terms of the compensation dimension. A moderate significant relationship was observed between both variables, with the exception of staff admission and teamwork; staff capacity with compensation and staff capacity with essential functions. Human resource management was related to the job performance of health workers in La Oroya - Junín.
